Listening Late Winter 2008 Workshops: MINI-RETREATS: Mini-retreats are held from noon to 5:00 pm at Listening in Barre. This retreat is perfect for those that practice yoga and those that do not. It’s open to people of all physical abilities. The emphasis is on reflection, not on activity. You do enough. This is a chance to simply be. There are three packages to choose from depending on your needs: Contact Megan at 413-477-0932, www.yogawithmegan.net EXPERIENCE THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE FOR FREEDOM AND BALANCE IN BODY, MIND & SPIRIT Wednesday, March 3rd from 7:00 – 9:00 PM Whether you’re playing an instrument, driving a car, using a computer, exercising, writing, or cooking, unconscious habits of tension can interfere with your activity and cause fatigue or pain. The Alexander Technique is an educational method that helps you eliminate these harmful habits through increased awareness and control in everyday activities. In this introductory workshop we will discuss the basic principles of this method, and demonstrate how you can apply them in ordinary movements. AWARENESS & EASE Sunday, March 16, 2-5:30pm Nourish yourself with an afternoon of mindfulness meditation and restorative yoga. Come relax your mind and body. REIKI Level I CLASS Tues., March 18 and March 25, 6 - 10 PM Reiki is a Japanese word that means Universal Life Energy. The Usui System of Reiki is a gentle healing art that balances the body, mind and spirit. Reiki restores energy balance and vitality by relieving the physical and emotional effects of unreleased stress. Reiki can be used in sickness, along with standard medical procedures/treatments and in health for prevention of dis-ease. You will learn how to give a Reiki treatment to yourself and others. Reiki Master: Natalie Imbier, Certified Nurse-Midwife has been a Reiki Master since 1998 and practices the Usui System of Natural Healing. She is currently a Community Partner at Listening, The Barre Integrated Health Center and offers Reiki sessions and classes from her home in Amherst. Natalie believes Reiki is the ultimate in self-care, bringing a gentle equilibrium of body, mind and soul into our everyday lives.
